Here's another for sale, the Wounded Moose. There are plenty of other pictures, as well. It's a 1971 Bob Hoare, set up for the Munich Games. I got it from Detroit, and it needed a lot of work. I stripped the entire boat, sanded, treated with penetrating epoxy and Brightside polyurethane over the colored primer. On top it got penetrating epoxy and 5 coats of varnish... THIS BOAT TURNS HEADS!!
No part of the boat has gone untouched!! Everything was upgraded as I went... blocks, systems, flotation, everything was upgraded. With continuous trapeze, hiking's a breeze, and the boat is lively and responsive. There's nothing like rolling over a 40 foot keelboat to weather while hanging on the wire. The ONLY reason I'm selling the boat is because I bought another FD for Worlds.
Comes with two sets of sails, only one large spinnaker, though it's brand newish! Sweet.
Pics tell the story. Trailer can go across the country. Bearing buddies on the hubs. Even get my cusdtom boat hold down with lights that should last forever, as they won't be submerged. Please email any questions you have.
Here's a pic of the boat, November 1st, 2011.
Another one..
And another view:
Bow paint: I removed the duck stickers... there were 10 or 12 of them.
These are cut to size 2x 10's, treated with penetrating epoxy and paint. HDPE, with skull and crossbones squishy mesh doormats.. funny and cool!
Worth the price of admission. These boats won two Olympics gold medals.
I made these myself.. stainless is a bitch. Everything stabilized underneath, as well.
Nice and straight.
Super smooth and fast. Tightened on one side with UHMW.
Uh, there you go.
This is awesome for trailering!
This could use some work, but works great!
Anywhere there's any damage, you can't see it. And won't! - !-->!-->!-->
